LondonLiving.Info
An independent editorial platform exploring the people, places, and cultural pulse of London
Role: Editor-at-Large
The Brief & Approach
London Living Blog was developed as an independent digital editorial platform dedicated to capturing the cultural rhythm of London — its neighbourhoods, creative scenes, and the people shaping life in the city. The brief was to create a publication with genuine editorial integrity: inclusive, non-biased, and representative of London as a whole. Content needed to feel informed and authoritative without promoting specific districts or interests, allowing the platform to build trust through balance, depth, and cultural relevance.
Editorial Platform
The website was designed and built by me as a long-form editorial publication rather than a branded content channel. Layout, hierarchy, and pacing were developed to support immersive reading, recurring features, and in-depth storytelling.
Cultural Archive
The platform functioned as a living cultural archive — documenting London through writing-led narratives that prioritised substance, curiosity, and context over promotion.
Role & Editorial Delivery
-
I acted as Editor-at-Large, shaping the editorial direction, voice, and scope of the publication. This role extended beyond commissioning and writing to include cultural research, story identification, and long-term narrative planning.
-
I carried out ongoing research to stay closely attuned to London’s cultural calendar — across arts, theatre, exhibitions, hospitality, nightlife, sport, and events — ensuring coverage remained timely, relevant, and informed.
-
I worked closely with London-based PR agencies across culture, hospitality, and the arts, attending press previews, gallery openings, premieres, launches, and events to source stories and firsthand insight.
-
I wrote and commissioned weekly long-form articles, producing in-depth neighbourhood pieces, cultural features, and interviews that reflected the social fabric of the city.
-
I conceived and led London Grilling, an interview initiative spotlighting noteworthy Londoners. This involved identifying subjects, conducting interviews, and shaping editorial narratives that highlighted the individuals influencing the city’s cultural life.
-
I managed the editorial calendar and publishing rhythm, ensuring consistency and reliability while balancing reactive cultural moments with evergreen content.
-
I oversaw content presentation on the website, ensuring clarity, readability, and a strong balance between text and imagery appropriate to long-form editorial storytelling
-
I designed and built the London Living Blog website, creating an editorial platform optimised for long-form reading, content discovery, and regular publishing. I managed the site on an ongoing basis, ensuring content presentation, structure, and usability supported the publication’s editorial goals
-
I directed and curated photography to support long-form editorial storytelling, ensuring imagery reinforced narrative, tone, and sense of place. This included briefing photographers, sourcing imagery, and selecting visuals that complemented written content rather than competing with it.
Social Media & Content Scope
-
I adapted long-form articles for social platforms, shaping captions, visuals, and sequencing to encourage click-through and sustained readership
-
I managed social channels to foster dialogue, sharing, and repeat engagement, strengthening the relationship between publication and audience
-
I planned and managed paid social activity to extend reach, support key stories, and drive traffic back to long-form editorial content

I reviewed engagement and traffic patterns to refine content themes, formats, and distribution strategy — supporting sustainable growth without compromising editorial integrity
-
I review content performance to understand what resonates, refining themes, formats, and sequencing to support sustainable growth without compromising brand integrity.
