The Brief & Approach

The Lodge is a private luxury retreat set in the Andalusian countryside, where discretion, landscape, and atmosphere are central to the guest experience. The brief was to create a digital presence that reflected this sense of place — immersive, considered, and quietly confident — without feeling promotional or over-designed. My role focused on creative direction and website development, shaping how the retreat is experienced online through structure, pacing, and visual restraint. The objective was to allow the setting, architecture, and experience to speak for themselves.

Experience-Led Website Design

The website was designed and built as an experience-led platform rather than a traditional hospitality website. Content hierarchy, tone, and flow were carefully considered to mirror the rhythm of the retreat itself — unhurried, spacious, and intentional.

Platform Architecture & Sales Flow

Visual storytelling was given room to breathe, while essential information was presented clearly and unobtrusively. The result is a digital presence that supports discovery and enquiry without interrupting the sense of calm and exclusivity that defines the property.

Role & Digital Delivery

  • I led a full rebrand for The Lodge Ronda, redefining the property’s visual identity, tone, and positioning. This included establishing a new brand direction rooted in privacy, landscape, and experience — moving away from outdated or inconsistent presentation

  • I project managed an on-site photoshoot in Spain to replace suboptimal and outdated imagery. I was fully responsible for moodboarding, artistic direction, and shoot planning, ensuring the new visuals accurately reflected the retreat’s atmosphere, architecture, and setting.

  • I curated and structured the new visual narrative across the platform, selecting and sequencing imagery to create a calm, immersive experience. Visual pacing and restraint were central to how the brand is now expressed online

  • I oversaw and directed the website build in collaboration with a WordPress developer, providing clear creative and structural direction throughout the process. While I did not build the site myself, I guided layout decisions, hierarchy, and user flow to ensure alignment with the new brand direction

  • I wrote all website copy, shaping the editorial tone to feel considered, spacious, and intentional. Language was carefully crafted to support discovery and enquiry without disrupting the sense of calm and exclusivity that defines the retreat.
